Always There To Protect Me
I feel that Sri Chinmoy has shown me the value of God's constant protection on numerous occasions. When I was studying in Salzburg, I always went to the university by bike. One day, out of the blue, I was wondering what would happen if I collided with a car. I told myself that it is stupid to think of an accident and tried to get rid of those thoughts.
Deep Gratitude
During the Christmas trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in December 1998, Sri Chinmoy and the disciples stayed at the Pan-Pacific Hotel, where I work—which was how I met Sri Chinmoy.
Extra Time
Just before Christmas 1995, when I was nearly 72, I had an experience described by doctors as a “stroke”.
One evening, my grandson Kahlil telephoned me and we were having a friendly chat. All of a sudden, my speech became blurred, and finally I could not speak.
Golden Light
Shortly after becoming a disiple of Sri Chinmoy, I went to the beach with some friends. Throwing caution to the wind, I didn't put on any sunblock or use any sun protection. At the end of the day when we went home, I noticed I had a very bad sunburn.
In Dark Moments
Years ago, during the winter Guru used to practise tennis shots indoors in our old Progress-Promise meeting hall. Guru used a ball machine, which would eject balls at some considerable speed, and Guru would fire them back over a net that had been temporarily erected for his practice sessions. Some of us boys would scurry behind the net collecting balls as fast as Guru could hit them.
Profound Protection
I was on an ice-climbing adventure with a friend in the winter of 1999 when I feel that Sri Chinmoy saved my life, yet again. Unfortunately, the weather was a little too warm, so the condition of the ice was not good.
The first day, which we spent on a small waterfall, I discovered that the ice was so rotten that few, if any, of my ice screws would hold a fall, but I managed to rappel (descend) to safety.
